We have been working with Mr. Lockwood for the last few years to bring him into compliance with his Conditional Use Permit for surface rock collection. He should not be mining rocks, and he is in violation of his permit because he has been expanding without the relevant State and County permits. His agreements with the property owners expired January of 2014. The County has been working with the Utah Division of Oil, Gas and mining in connection with his complance issues. He is now in compliance with all the State requirements, and must come into compliance with all the County ordinances.

The Planning office needs a new updated application within fourteen days, or at least a written plan for doing so. This application will need an updated agreement from the property owner; this will be a new application for his mine operation, as the operation has grown from picking up surface rocks to mining. In connection with the new Conditional Use permit he will also need a new application for a business license which will be submitted at the time of the mine application.

A notice was sent on the 17th March 2015 asking him to contact Jim Gentry, the Current Principal Planner and he will assign the appropriate Planning Staff to Mr. Lockwood's project. I gave him Jim's number so he could make an appointment with him to discuss and to submit his new application.
