Engineering Review:

I have had a chance to review the plan(s) and have the following comment(s):

  1. Any work within the ROW will need an excavation permit. Acknowledged
  2. Where does the bypass or drain go to? It drains to the District's Rapid Infiltration Basin (RIB), immediately adjacent to the proposed pump station. will it cause any problems to neighbors. No. The RIB is designed to accept treated effluent from the treatment plant, and allow it to rapidly infiltrate into the ground. It performs this task remarkably well...the bottom of the pond has never been entirely wet with treated effluent...it infiltrates before the treated effluent can cover the basin bottom.  The RIB is a smaller capacity than the proposed reuse pond that may be drained back into it.  The rate and duration of backflow can/will be adjusted as necessary to allow the drained water to properly infiltrate.

I have tried to address all items of concern from the Engineering Department. However, this review does not forego other items of concern that may come to this department’s attention during additional reviews or during construction of improvements. It is the responsibility of property owners to ensure that they are not building over an easement. If you have any comments or questions concerning this review, feel free to contact me.
