These ordinance amendments will modify the current natural hazards overlay zone to remove the Planning Commission as the only land use authority over projects with natural hazards. They defer the land use authority to the typical authority otherwise designated by other sections of the Land Use Code.
These amendments also improve the natural hazards ordinance for clarity, remove redundancies, and include clarifying process steps and appeal provisions for natural hazard reviews.
