The purpose of this project is to widen the shoulder of road and remove the dilapidated guard rail along the West side of the road. Therefore, increasing traffic and pedestrian safety along this stretch of the Highway.

I met Kelly on site today to look at the issues involved with widening the road through this area. Kelly is getting it blue staked and he will start with the 2 ends and see how it goes. A lot of material is required to do the entire length, not sure if he has that much material available to him. We will reevaluate the situation once he gets the 2 ends done and see what he thinks he can do. He will have to do something in the middle in order to replace the guard rail, he intention is to remove the existing guard rail and construct a new one but about half as long as the one that is there.

Met with Nate and Kelly about this project. Kelly indicated he has about decided to just replace the guard rail and forget the widening. He and I are going to go look at the project next week sometime to see if we have options or not.

I attended a meeting at Weber Pathways office on Monday and was asked for a timeline as to when we will get this project completed. Pathways needs to know for planning purposes as they start to consider which portion of the pathway to apply for funding on. I sent an email to Kelly Hipwell today to find out his schedule.

A stream alteration permit was applied for and was determined that it was not needed. Kelly Hipwell will be doing the work and been notified that he start whenever he is ready.
