Approximately four years ago I recevied a phone call from Hunter Merrell regarding his neighbors chickens. I did go out and what I found was that his neighbor did have chickens and he was using his entire yard apart from his patio, and as he owned .33 of an acre he was just inside the alowable area. I did talk to Jim about his situation, there was also a shed at the bottom of the garden that he was using as a coop. I informed the neighbor with the chickens that as long as he was using his etire back yard and not using the shed as a coop he could continue, but if he wanted to use the shed it needed to be not less than twenty five feet from any side or rear lot line which would basiclly mean his coop would have to be in the middle of hs back yard. He agreed not to use it for the chickens. I talked to the neighbor who had complained and apprised him that if he wasn't using the shed he was ok to have his chickens but if he started to use the shed to call me. It was left at that until today. Mr. Mina Gholami is using the shed for his chickens and so a notice will be issued asking him to remove the shed as he is using it as a coop or move the shed twenty five feet from the lot lines of his property to adhere to the zoning ordinances.

Mr. Mina Gholami has built another chicken coop which meets setbacks so he is now in compliance.

I talked with Mr. Mina Gholami (801-941-8957)he is in the process of moving to Idaho and has locked out his chickens from using the shed/coop. He informed me that he has purchased lumber to build a coop twenty-five (25) feet from any side or rear lot line. If the offer in Idaho falls through he is going to call me next week and let me know as soon as he knows. He is also going to call me for a re-inspection when he tears down the old coop, and to show me the new coop.

Hunter Merrell the neighbor called concerning the status of his complaint. Try to contact Iris, and the attorney who will be processing the case. No information in the file. Informed Hunter if I find any information I will contact him.

Chapter 3-2, 6. Corral, stable or building for keeping of animals or fowl, provided such building shall be located not less than one hundred (100) feet from a public street, and not less than twenty-five (25) feet from any side or rear lot line.
