December 17,
August 22, 2001 a letter was sent informing Mr. Todd Potter of zoning violations, shortly after receiving a letter from the County Mr. Potter contacted the Attorney's office and seemed willing to work with the County to bring his property into compliance, but nothing was forth coming. Mr. Potter was again contacted By Ms. Hurtado Deputy Attorney and asked to come into compliance. November 20, 2001 Mr. Bradon Poll Deputy Attorney contacted Mr. Potter about the violations on his property. 2006 he was again contated and again informed his property was not in compliance. 2007 The case was winding its way through the court system and Mr, Potter obtained an attorney and it was decided that Mr. Potter would clean up his property and that I would walk the property with his attorney and I would point out things that were in violation because Mr.Potter informed Judge Story that he didn't understand what was junk and what he could have on his property. I met Mr.Potter and his attorney and we walked the property and I pointed out what was junk and what he could have per ordinance. I also took photographs and forwarded these photographs to Mr.Potters attorney through our attorney's office. The Judge gave him time to clear up the junk because until he managed to clean up his property he could not apply for a business license, Judge Story thought that would be enough Incentive and also fined him.
June 16, 2008 I sent a certified notice and he refused to claim so I went to his property and gave him a copy of the letter and saked him to sign for it. We went before Judge Story and he said he has been given time to clean up and as long as he is making progress that is all that his court could ask for. For every other month I would drive by the property to see how it was progressing. The Judge also said when the property was clean that he would benefit with a 24 month informal probation to make sure that he was continuing to keep the property clean. December 17 2012 A person came into the office, he wanted to lease space and put a sign up on Mr.Potters property, so I went to see if he was now in compliance I again sent Mr.Potter a notice because he was still out of compliance stating these reasons 1. Operating an automobile recycling facility 2. Operating a business without a license 3. Storing inoperable or abandoned vehicles and maintaining a junk yard. When I went to see Mr.Potter he had moved his business to Layton and on the front door there was a not another number to contact him I called the number but received no answer. There appeared to be two recreational vehicles one old Volkswagen buss and a sedan left to clean up. May 2 Had a discussion with Assistant Director Jim Gentry because an antenna company wanted to make some changes and update their tower on Mr.Potters property. Mr.Jim Gentry notified the company that because Mr.Potter was out of compliance they could not proceed,
