Sent a notice to Ms. Michele & Heidi Scadden because of a violation of the Unincorporated Weber County junk Ordinance and the Uniform Building Code on their property, their building has partially fallen down. Buildings that are in a state of distress, that are falling down are an attractive nuisance to the community, the building needs to be properly removed and the rubble, and other debris removed as well with the proper permits form the County in place. You may apply for a demolition permit at no cost through the building Inspections Division.

Tuesday 15 April 2014, Had an e-mail from Mr. Scadden, he has a letter from a licensed engineer with his professional conclusion on the condition of the shed in question. Mr. Scadden's intention with this letter is to serve notice that he refuses to assume any further exposure to any type of risk that this building (deemed dangerous) could create. He is insisting that this be resolved as soon as possible.I have e-mailed Mr. Hansen Ms. Sanone's Attorney asking for his comment because of the on going litigation.

Monday 14 April 2014, Planning Director Sean Wilkinson, Commissioner Zogmaister, and Mr. Scadden met to discuss his situation. I had sent him a letter extending the clean-up for 30 days as I had communication with the opposing side Ms. Karmen Sanone's attorney Mr. Scott Hansen, he informed me that they were going into arbitration and that his client owned the building. I did inform Mr. Hansen that if the building was going to remain that an engineer would have to sign off on the building and all the relevant permits must be obtained.

Monday 7 April 2014, Sent a letter to Mr.Scadden concerning building. Mr. Scadden, I have spoken with Ms.Karmen Sanone’s attorney Mr. Scott Hansen and also with the building official Mr. Craig Brown, the building official has agreed to extend the removal of the building for thirty days, from today April 7, 2014 until May 7, 2014. The Building official has also indicated that if a structural Engineer signs off on the building and indicates that it is sound and can be repaired to its original condition there would be no need to abate the building. If this cannot be done in the extended time that has been granted the building must be demolished and the building waste removed. The proper permits must be obtained from the Building Inspections Division, and if so indicated by the structural Engineer the repairs should be done as soon as possible, not to endanger the safety or welfare of the general public.
