Application

This is an ongoing problem and has been going since 2006.

Mr. Kevin Chambers built an Agricultural building on his property, a land use permit was issued he also signed a second kitchen covenant and was advised that he could only have an agricultural building. He did try and rezone the property to Mv-1 which was denied.  

At some point he built living quarters within the agricultural building without permits from Planning, Health, and Building. Notices were sent out but Mr. Chambers opted to return the property to the bank is now in possession of the property.

Recently there has been renewed interest in the building and property and before this property is again in compliance

The next steps are as follows:

1. A Health Department review of the proposal. They will check for adequate culinary water and sanitary sewer facilities. They will need to talk to Michela Gladwell. Ask for a letter of feasibility and be able to advise you of any other Health Department regulations governing the establishment of residence on the site.
2.  The services of a contractor or architect to help engage the process. The building will need to be examined by professionals to determine compliance with code. This will likely include examination by a structural engineer. They will be able to draw up plans that will be submitted with the residential building permit.
3. Once the letter of feasibility from the Health Department and the engineered drawings are ready for a building permit review. Upon submission of the application Planning will review it for zoning compliance, and the Building Official will review it for Building Code compliance.
