Application

A notice of violation was sent to Mr. Long asking him to clean up his junk. Mr. Long has spread out to the adjacent property owner. I have also sent a notice of violation to the other property owner.

Received a phone call 13th September asking if they could have an extension, I said I would permit an extension if I had a letter of intent, with times and dates when the clean up was going to take place, and all I could do is give a 30 day extension if I received such a leter, by fax or e-mail and they weren’t quite finished I would come up and assess the work that was done and at time I might be able to extend it.

The Director of Planning Mr. Rob Scott met with Mr. Fay Long and his son Mr. Bob Long. They discussed the contents of the last correspondence that was sent to them regarding the outhouse, shed and structure surrounding the hot tub. The request has been made from the County that they show that these buildings are within their setbacks. Mr. Scott has allowed them two weeks from today to provide this office with the appropriate evidence.

I received a phone call from Mr. Long he Indicated that he would make an apointment with a planer and come into compliance with his shed but asked for an extension of time to Complete the clearance of Junk, which I gave him until the 20 March 2012, unless the ground was still covererd with at least 1 (one) foot of snow. I have not heard from Annette Richman family representative or Mr. Long and as it has been 6 (six) months the end of Winter and no snow, the property still has junk, no land use permit, and junk in the right of way I have sent Mr. Long and his father who own's the property a final notice for 7 (seven) days. Will do one Last reinspection on the 5 (fifth) of April and then take it to the attorney's office for prosecution.

He has started to make some progress, he has hauled 2 loaded trailers of junk to the dump, one of the non functioning vehicles has been removed and most of the stuff piled against the house is gone. There is still much to do, but if his efforts continue as he has started it should be cleaned up pretty quickly. The County does need the areas cleaned up that he has spilled into off his property, the right of way and the neighbor’s property, and maybe if he can concentrate on those first, I would be able to give a little more time on his actual property. I am also concerned about the second shed, it does not have a land use permit and to be in compliance it does need one, I did have the Building Official go by and take a look as I wasn’t sure that it was within the 200 square feet regulation, he did some outside measurements and determined that it didn’t need a building permit, but it does need a Land Use permit. I have e-mailed my concerns to his contact person Annette Richman and am now waiting for her response.
